You Don't Need Many Colors

Posted by Trae Mundt on

A few months ago, I went to visit my Mom and her husband in San Diego. It was a wonderful visit. This time I asked if it would be alright to paint during my stay. Mom said yes. (Thank you, Mom!)

I brought my favorite brushes and art panels with me. (I like to paint on museum series Gessobord™.) I also packed my plastic container for cleaning my brushes.

You don't need many colors to paint a colorful painting. At a nearby Michael's, I purchased seven tubes of acrylic paint: Titanium White, Cad Free Yellow Light, Cad Red Medium, Mars Black, Ultramarine Blue Red Shade, Deep Magenta, and Phthalocyanine Blue Green Shade. I also purchased a very small metal table easel, a water resistant piece of foam core to protect Mom's table and my new favorite palette - the Sta-Wet palette with paper. We found a squirt bottle at the grocery store.

The next day I set up my work area. It's painting time.
