Churro the Wild Burro

Churro the Wild Burro in Las Vegas, Nevada Oil Painting by Trae Mundt.
I live in the desert. The summers are so hot here.
It was my birthday, so we decided to spend a few days in Mount Charleston which is about 35-40 miles northwest of Las Vegas. It's much cooler at the top of the mountain.
Before the trip, I whispered a prayer to God asking Him for a birthday surprise. I was waiting to see what I would see.
About halfway up the mountain we went around a curve and saw this beautiful burro. He was on my side of the road and close to the road. It was an amazing spot. We had room to pull over, and he wasn't bothered by our presence.
He was grazing. He slowly lifted his head and looked at me. I was ready with my camera. We locked eyes. What a moment. I fell in love with this burro and had to paint his portrait.
When you visit Las Vegas, I encourage you to take time to visit Mount Charleston. It's a lovely place to visit, especially on your birthday!
