Cerise - Red, Orange and Burgundy Oleander Flowers on Pink Geometric Pattern

I'm grateful my neighbors grow beautiful flowers in their yards. I'm always looking for floral subjects to paint. Cerise was inspired by a big oleander shrub about two blocks from my house. The big red flowers were bursting with color and vibrancy.

I took a few reference photos. When I got home I studied the composition and sketched the layout. I transferred that layout to my canvas. I spent quality time with my color wheel deciding which colors I wanted to use. Then the painting began.
