Bluebell's fur, eyes, nose, and big blue bow were painted with a palette knife. I used a small round brush to paint her earrings and mouth.

My palette knife is one of my favorite artist tools. I use it every painting day. It's great for mixing colors, applying sharp edges, and plopping down fun shapes. I can break up the colors. I can remove mistakes.

The artistic possibilities with the palette knife are numerous.
