This painting will command attention. It's inviting and easy on the eyes. As I paint, I like to use flat brushes and my favorite palette knife. My brushes enable me to create subtle details and texture. For added touches of texture I use my palette knife. The wings were painted with vivid hues of orange, black, and white. Notice the texture lines. The flowers were painted with hues of yellow and yellow-orange. I dropped in green shapes of paint to create a subtle texture in the green leaves. Look closely for the small brush strokes of gray and teal green.
Viewers will enjoy a rich symphony of colors.
I've loved butterflies since I was a little girl. I have wonderful memories of these beauties flying beside me. This is my first butterfly painting.
