New York State Flower - The Rose
In 1955 the New York legislators designated the rose as the official flower in any color or combination of colors common to it. For this collection, I chose to draw the red rose.
The texture was created with many pen strokes. Zoom in to see the colors of the red petals. I used four red tones for the petals and five green tones for the leaves and stem (peduncle). The leaves have a serrated edge.
I love the elegance of this rose.
