Maine State Flower - The Pine Cone and Tassel

As a child I fell in love with pine cones. You can imagine how happy I was when I learned Maine had designated the pine cone and tassel as its state flower.

I love the composition and elegance of this drawing. I used my pens to convey the minute details. Look closely at the blue-green needles. Look at the pen strokes creating the form of the pine cone. Beautiful!
