Franky - oil painting by artist Trae Mundt. Franky is a porcupine puffer fish who lives in a saltwater aquarium at my surgeon's office in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fish is painted in shades of brown and taupe with black & navy large eyes. Aquarium has artificial rust colored coral islands with rust colored archways and white and grey and purple saltwater crushed rock. Background is painted with stripes of varying colors of teal green. Large black rocks are on bottom of aquarium.

I fell in love with Franky as I watched him swim. I knew I needed to paint his portrait.

This is my first portrait of a fish!

I took my time. I studied my reference photos. Details make the painting.
