Arizona State Flower - The Saguaro Cactus Blossom
Have you ever seen the blossom of the saguaro cactus in person? It's a pure white waxy flower.
When my husband and I lived in Arizona we saw these beauties in person. The cactus is slow growing. Some grow up to 40-60 feet tall! I've read they can live up to 150-200 years!
The size of the original drawing is poster size. Look at all the pen strokes. It took some time to finish this illustration. Before going to press I added a soft pale yellow behind the white flowers. This provides a great background to the white flowers.
